You could say Daniel was born for this business, and it wouldn’t be too far from the truth. His parents established Pluta Accountants in the 1980s, and Daniel started working for the firm straight out of high school where he excelled in accounting and was awarded top student in Year 12.
But quite apart from all the obvious reasons to go into accounting, there was another draw. Daniel knew that numbers and money caused people a lot of stress. And putting his intelligence and talents towards relieving that stress felt like a way for Daniel to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.
Daniel completed his studies part-time while working at Pluta Accountants, and by 2002 he was running the business. Daniel was just 26 years old at the time, but he already had 8 years at the firm under his belt and a lifetime of exposure to the challenges of running a small business behind him.
Legacy and loyalty naturally drive Daniel’s work, but more than anything else he continues to be motivated by helping clients relieve stress, overcome challenges and achieve goals.
While the firm has enjoyed many of its own successes, including being listed as a Top 100 Accounting Firm by The Australian Financial Review, Daniel’s career highlights always come back to his client’s successes. Like building a new business from scratch and working to negotiate a successful buyout, or growing a business from a single truck to a whole fleet of vehicles.
Daniel is a hands-on partner and leader who brings his own experience and insight as a small business owner to his work with the firm’s small business clients. On any given day, Daniel can be found reviewing files, steering the team, collaborating with clients to solve problems, negotiating with the ATO or donning lycra to jump on his bike.
